In the afternoon, if Lucia passes by her balcony, she may spot (Old) Scratch, her brother's scruffy black cat with huge yellow eyes, sitting there with a dead bird in his mouth. A gift for family. Otherwise, she'll discover just the dead bird (a red-winged blackbird) later in the day. Either way... ew. But it's the thought that counts, right??
